I don't think he'll leave after you've saved Imoen. However, you may lose him in his own quest if you are not careful. The "right" thing to do is probably to have him talk to the guy his wife is seeing. Keldorn will understand he's been paying no attention to his wife and that he has to work on the relationship. When you go back to his estate, you can chose to let him go, in which case you will never see him again, to let him have a day off, in which case you can come back the next day and get him, and to deny his request, in which case I suspect he will be upset later on and maybe leave you. If you give him the day, however, he will continue to travel with you but make this his last quest ever.
