I'd go back to a save before the first encounter with them.. though that might hurt just as much if it's too far back in quests and all.. Not sure what else to suggest.
My party with two wizards and Flamedrop took them out, but we had plenty of backing up space so it wouldn't work for you I'm afraid. Sorry not to be of more help..
