Nope, no tomes in BG2. At the end you get a few pluses to yer stats, but like I said, it's at the end, and I won't spoil it for you. Only way you can find the AC of something is to check it out in an AD&D monster manual - go here for the online version, BG2 monsters are fairly accurate to their AD&D counterparts - or check it through infinity explorer, which is trickier.
