I did it at 9, then was up to level 12 mage. Then computer crash
so never got to complete it. It was an awesome combo though. But ToB drasticlly raises the exp cap so 12 might be a good option. However if you did it at 10 its really no big deal, you miss out on a slightly lower thaco and 1 proficiency slot. You'll need plenty of breeches-type spells coming up, and everyone loves a good fireball eh?
