I just checked the AP interactive map and it showed Obama having 294 electoral votes. I thought that made it "official" until I checked the map more closely. The states that put Obama over the top were CA, OR and WA. But out of those three, the ONLY results they have so far is 6% reporting from OR and 0% CA and WA both. I fully expect Obama to win CA and most likely the other two as well, but it's this kind of premature "projecting" that created problems in the past. I was just about to go to bed thinking Obama had locked up the victory. Not that I doubt that will still be the outcome, but it would be nice if the AP waited until they actually had at least SOME votes from a state before "projecting" that state for either candidate.
