Actually, no.
Spell Resistance only affects the chances of a spell working on you.
To beat spell resistance a caster must roll:
1d20 + Caster Level + Any Spell Penetration feats (2,4, or 6) >/= Target's SR
If they do, the spell goes through. Thus why spell resistance can eat spells.
There is a Magic Damage resistance trait, but it can only be put on items.
