On the ACT, SAT, PSAT-NMSQT, LSAT, GRE, etc. failure to properly follow instructions can result in an absolute zero. If you can't follow the instructions given to take the exam, you've failed the first hurdle. A student so (a) absent-minded and (b) involved enough to care and complain should be thankful for the help in getting through this, one of life's many little lessons.
