I understood that there were several 'cultures' blended into what is Singapore and Malaysia. I have a friend who was married to the sister of the head of Malaysian govt. (divorced a few yrs back) and the things he used talk about were incredible. He said that the various cultures in Malaysia were quite separate and distinguishable.
