Two days is too long to be down there! Something I missed was the following: Before you go to load your game from Windows you will see many options (you pick W&W CD required to go play) but above that option is ONLINE HELP FILE. It is full of spoiler hints and has maps for the crypt. If you look back in the forum you will see you aren't alone.

If you are where I think you are, (swimming around the tombs), look for a lever on the wall by the barred gates. Or if you are still by the mummy, you can ride on the TOP of the elevator to escape out a secret passage.
