Just a quick post to say that I'm in Darwin and I'm bored shitless.
Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory, is a small city/large town with a population of approx. 90,000 people and there is not really a lot to do. My sister and I arrived last night at 10 pm and quickly visited the casino (we're staying at the MGM Grand Hotel) before hitting the sack. Today we checked out the city, it's really small and on Sundays is really quiet and mellow, not a lot of shops or other stuff open so we've been chilling out at our hotel. I'm sitting at an internet cafe in Darwin's backpacker area right now. Our friend Lyn arrives tonight from Sydney.
Tomorrow our tour begins in earnest - 7:30 am we get picked up and taken to Kakadu, where we go on a loooonng bushwalk along these really remote trails, visit a waterfall, and some other stuff. Then it's off to Katherine Gorge which I've heard is really spectacular - hoping to go canoeing at some stage. I've got a digital camera with me and will try and post some shots at Stealthy's Site if I have the time. I don't expect to be near an internet cafe till Thursday or Friday, though.
