Judging from your post you are already in the Lost Sea area (if you have already retrieved Talrik’s treasure) without having completed the living tree seed quest. If that is so you have forfeit your chance to complete the magical aegis quest (they have been put in the wrong order by the programmers as stated by Sazerac in his post in the best tips thread on the guild quests).

If you have become a vampire only the toughen spell helps if you are about to die – and only as a temporary measure. To alleviate the bloodthirst problem you have to equip an item with the ”regeneration” property. The vampire ring has this, but that only works in the patched version of the game. Otherwise you will have to enchant/bless an item with regeneration and wear it.
