heh, thanks - the way I figured is this:
If I went and got a job, I'd probably be bored and stuck in the job. If I do a PhD, I'll probably also dislike having to work, but at least I'm still a student, living on campus and I'm getting another qualification (if it pans out - there's a major viva after one year! erk!) and hopefully more doors will open to more interesting stuff. Plus the funding I get is tax free, so if I got a job, after tax off I'd probably only be getting around 30-40% more than I get now. Long live the student days!
