I think this is a general error report that can appear at different times in the game, possibly as a result of different problems.
Be sure to check out the FAQ's on
www.activision.com and also have your power management off, Windows running virtual memory, and the latest video/sound drivers installed. Try a different size installation, and if you can get that far switch to software mode for graphics.
