GIMP help files don't seem to exist. But, in my opinion, they would be redundant anyway. The interface is extremely easy to use, and self-explanatory.

dplax, just because an uncompressed bitmap (generally associated with *.bmp) is an image doesn't mean it should go on the web.

The only images that should ever be shown in a webpage are GIF, JPEG, and PNG - this is a W3C thing.
