I was just thinking along subtitle lines a few minutes ago, but when I opened this thread to reply again I looked at Lanesra's response.
Lettuce is of course a slang term for money - cash - moola - loot.
And of course, as the old saying goes :
MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL

So lettuce really is evil - justa pity that I won't be able to prove to Donut that I came to this conclusion without being led by the nose by Lanesra
