As for the poor woman's hand and wrist...um...I'd go with a warm compress or something!

Thanks for the info Attalus, learn something every day!
Cloudy, dunno she told me the doctors were also advising ice, so it makes me think that cold is what is needed rather than warmth to reduce the swelling. Beats me. I feel very sorry for her. She is only about 4' 11", very skinny and frail, 80 years old, is a diabetic as well. I just wonder if this surgery was a good idea. She told me four years ago she went to the doctor about her arthritis, the doctor told her he could operate but it would only minimize her pain. So she didn't do it, didn't feel it worth it for just a "minimize" deal. So she tells me today that the doctor called her up on the phone recently, and told her about the new technology, medical advances, etc., and that he now could do the surgery and it would totally take away her pain. So she's done it now. But I just think a year (or possibly 2) of healing is a long time for someone who is her age. Not to mention right now her pain is waaay worse than what her arthritis gave her. I just hope that the pain fades away soon to a tolerable level, as apparently it will continue for again, a year or more!
Oh and back OT, I also have heard of the jellyfish thing, if you get stung and can't see a doc quickly to have someone pee on the area of the sting. Not sure what it does though, but I definitely have heard of that.
Never heard of StormyMystic's putting it on the face to get rid of wrinkles deal LOL, ack! I mean, even if it worked you may be wrinkleless, but nobody will want to come near you! *she's good lookin dude but keep away from her, she stinks*
Never heard of anyone drinking it before either, except for people at sea for a long time without water, a survival type thing.
