Ummmmm...... Ear piercings should not be exceptionally painful. Is the area red and puffy? Does the area feel really warm to the touch? Are there excessive crusties around the earring? If so, it's infected! Don't mess with an infection in your ear unless you want to lose your earlobe to necrosis. Go to a doctor to get antibiotics. Alternately, if you insist upon not seeing the doctor, remove the earring. Wash and disinfect the area. If there is excessive pus in the hole, GENTLY squeeze to remove it. Apply large amounts of antibiotic ointment to the entire earlobe (front and back) and reapply often. Apply heat to stimulate circulation in the area whenever possible. Wait until the ear is completely healed before trying to pierce it again. If the Doc says there's no infection, ice and tylenol should be plenty.
