Why should it be disappointing? Why look to the past when you can gaze to the fut.., ehh present.
You are bound to remember someone who did something good for you personally. Even though your "founding fathers" did good for the entire country I'm sure people will tend to forget that if someone steps in later and gives them a 10% tax cut.
