I watched a couple of Anime movies once, they were pretty good. I think they were called "Akira" and "Castle in the Sky".
As you can probably tell Anime isn't really my thing, I've got a friend though who occasionally comes here on IW called Tim the Badger. He'd probably be able to give you the name of about a 100 good anime series'
