A few important points I noticed.

1) Most of the workers affected said they were not upset about the situation. So if the people being affected are not upset, I don't see much of a problem.

2) I heard on the radio this morning that Airlite IS offering employees the opportunity to skip the President's speech and work their regular shift in another factory next to the one being used by the President. So if J.R. or Rokenn were employees of Airlite, they would be able to work their regular shift at their regular time without losing any pay or a Saturday in the deal.
