I do understand what you're saying here. But I'm thinking, people who have terminal illnesses want to die to end their suffering, so they don't have to be in pain or lose control over their life or live without dignity. It just seems terribly unfair that someone who we judge not to be in a fit state of mind - someone who is intellectually disabled, or mentally ill etc has to put up with all that suffering when they are clearly going to die anyway, just in a lot of pain and discomfort that could be avoided.
