audigy 2 is not a bad card, a bit expensive though...
If you are looking to spend less than that i'd recommend a fortissimo III or a turtle beach santa cruz.... both have wonderful drivers, and are good quality cards [img]smile.gif[/img]
your problem of the centre channel not being used is not uncommon though, a solution lifted from another forum i visit:
"Download the Creative Playcentre, install then enable CMSS. This makes any stereo input work with the centre channel, system wide, all 5.1 input will still function correctly."
