I may not say much round here, but when anyone says anything bad about Shakira, I have to come and give them a verbal slapping. Do any of you detractors know how talented she is? She writes and produces all her own music. She not only sings bl**dy brilliantly but also plays guitar, drums and harmonica, all of them well. And if you listen beyond her english language singles, you'll find she's not just a pop tart. Laundry Service has some damn good songs (Poem To A Horse, Fool, Rules, The One), but Donde Estan Los Ladrones is a better album, with superb songs like Si Te Vas, Moscas En La Casa, Tu, and my favourite - Inevitable. Pies Descalzos is also a brilliant album, while MTV Unplugged shows how versatile she is. Unfortunately her first two albums are unavailable in shops and are worth £300 each at least (a copy of her first album on vinyl just sold on Ebay for £625/$950).

And I think I can clear up Cristian's location problem. If he saw Shakira in concert last night, he must live in Sweden, as she was in Stockholm last night, but he may be saying he is originally from Colombia.

LONG MAY SHAKIRA STAY AT THE TOP OF THE MUSICAL WORLD
