70% of the EU budget was wasted on this. We've been trying to get rid of this waste of money for years now, but the French wont agree on any budget cuts (big surprise- most of it goes to French farmers). So now we just spend billions on food that gets thrown away anyway, because we can import it much cheaper from the Third World...
