As far as forums are concerned, it`s probably better to leave your formatting at different colours, and bold or underline for emphasis. I can teach you how to change the size of the text properly, but I won`t.
Important: choose colours that are readable on your background. For example, do not use dark brown/blue, red, or black here... it can be very annoying to try to read.

Depricated = won`t be in later versions of HTML, you should get used to not using them, so that when they aren`t useful anymore, it won`t affect you.
And choose colours that we can read !! [img]tongue.gif[/img]
