The US have clearly stated that misinformation is part of their war tactic.
Otherwise I have a bit more trust in the truthfullness of their news.
Yet their image is distorted. Not by what they choose to broadcast, but by what they do NOT chose to broadcast.
The war in the former republic of Congo has for example attained a body count rivalling that of WW2 (including civilians) with little notice.
Also the EU countries have kept devastating trade policies towards the third world firmly in place without any public outcry of any significance.
Why? Because what's out of sight is out of mind.
