Tom Waits is pretty good, but not the greatest musician ever, no. I'm mostly familiar with his newer work, not his early-career more jazzy records. I've got a few of his records (including the aforementioned Alice), but I have to admit that I have to be in the mood for his music... It's not something I can listen to on every occasion.
