Navy Seals and Special forces types are constantly bragging about how their martial training will allow them to beat down any attacker and yet...they continue to get their asses whupped in bar fights Martial arts do not a fighting machine make....nor do they win all fights. A knife, a bat, a gun will win against a martial artist if used by someone who is familiar in weilding the weapon. There is a reason why weapons were invented and improved over thousands of years and man didn't just satisfy himself with using tae kwan do against his adversaries and food on the hoof.
Martial arts are fine, and can be useful, but I really think that some people really really buy too much into the hollywood hype.
