Well, quietman, I will agree that being in the top 10% means nothing. Note that there is a tax cap proposed (or passed?? - note to self: investigate) to limit income taxes to 3 mil. dollars. WHAT HOGWASH! I say if you make over 3 mil. a year, we should take every single penny and give it to middle class folks who hold down jobs and can't send their kids to college.
Plus, anyone who makes that much money a year can afford to pay a team of me's to make sure they don't pay a nickel over 12% in taxes. Keep it invested, and you don't get taxed, my friend.

But, what small amount of the tax cuts that do affect me I greedily want. And, the programs he proposed will take the money from elsewheres in the budget. Haven't you heard Christy Todd Whitty complaining about lack of funding? Note the EPA in Chicago has hired NOONE NEW in over 2 years. Yikes!
The one program he proposed that I hated: $600 million to assist 300,000 addicts over the next few years. That's $2000 per addict. May as well flush it down the toilet. I say put addicts on a road crew in prison for 12 mos. and they'll get over whatever addictions they have.
Plus, as someone who has known a lot of drug-user and abusers, and seen some fail and some not, I've simply got to say that some people can deal with life and some can't. I know some people who still (presumably) use drugs every day without letting the world know about it. Now, I'm not saying they are doing the right thing, but I am saying it's not that hard to manage life's little issues and simply do your job.
