Lav, thank you for posting this. I don't think I want to look at the link, not out of squeamishness or escapism though - just because I don't feel it's necessary and I'd probably end up thinking of nothing else.

Anyway, just wanted to say I absolutely agree with you about drunk driving. I am not normally very judgmental but I'm afraid I can have no respect for people who do it.
You are right that in some cases, maybe this one too, the drunk driver wasn't the (only) one at fault, but I think that because they step into a car and start driving while NOT in control of themselves, they bring other lives in danger by default. It may end well in most cases, the fact that they put other people's lives in danger is just despicable to me.
I also think (and hope I'll never be proven wrong) that I have such a strong conviction about the dangers and wrongness of drunk driving, that I'd NEVER even consider it, no matter how drunk I am. I doubt many people would sign a contract to give away all their money, no matter how drunk they were, so clearly they *do* have enough sense left to decide such things.
