Donut, I'm afraid I'm going to ruin your study here and finally own up and admit that I - a Londoner - don't get it
As some of you will know, I have a real problem with jokes, and take things very literally (winged termites?) - mild dyslexia. Often have to have jokes explained to me. I am in the habit of laughing anyway when everyone else laughs, just so I don't look stupid, but it's a bit more difficult on the internet!
