Heh, I splitted my original harddrive up in 2 drives. Left the orginal stuff(win 98 SE)on c: and installed win xp professional on d:
I can tell you that that was completely useless. Win xp uses a different registry ect.. Also, I had major diffeculties with a driver for my soundcard, which was a win 98 driver but got in xp for some reason. As for programs to run, I think every program will work as long as you have them installed under the xp registry (I think 2000 will be the same).
Just to point out, I was testing how xp would run on my system. It ran great but it has to be a stand-alone OS (if it werent for the registry)
