AFAIK there is nothing in the Quran that forbids these things, many Islamic states take it to extremes. It would be the equivalent of a Christian state (if there was one) ordering the burning of all furniture touched by a woman having her period (Leviticus, don't know the exact chapter and verse).

EDIT to add: I'm an atheist and am proud to count as good friends people from many religions including Christian, Islamic, Hindu, Wiccan - they all get along just fine. It's not religion itself that causes conflict, but religion is used as an excuse for political conflict and to gain support from populations for the leader's actions. Epona, I think you are getting Christians mixed up with Jews...Old testement vs new testement in the bible....Leviticus is definately old [img]smile.gif[/img]

There are strict rules concerning the actions of women in the muslim faith, and were she what Yorick said "Hard Core" then she would have been violating all those rules ...if she is just regular core muslim who modifies their beliefs to suit their desired life style then they are not hard core, nor are they all that faithful. Just my opinion of course.
