I'm reminded of this old Irish knee-slapper my grandmother once told:

One evening, two Irishmen who worked at the Guinnes brewery went by the home of their friends' wife to deliver some bad news: the womans' husband died that day at work.

"Oh, no!" she cried. "My dear beloved Sean is dead!! How'd it happen?"

"Well," replied one of the men, "we was checkin' the vats when poor Sean, God rest him" **does Sign of the Cross** "lost 'is balance and fell into one o' the vats and drowned."

"He drowned in one o' that vats?!" said his wife incredulously. "Was there not anyone there to save him?"

"Well darlin', we pulled 'im out four times, but 'e kept divin' back in!"
