Right, so, people were tortured as a means of conversion some 800-300 years ago and then the church decided to officially end torture by papal law in 1816. OK. Even today, there are many allegations that it collaborated with Mussolini and Hitler.
Not to mention it’s covering up of the endemic paedophile priests, something that happens all the time.
So I would question its morals and ethics even today.
It seems that it hasn’t improved much HTH.
