The shopping season might be partly to blame. Like Steve Fox says, so many people you want to get things for and a limited amount of money to spend on them equals feeling like you didn't get them what you feel they deserve.

Fortunately for me, my mom isn't very picky and my son has mostly asked for books and little toys (he's not a normal six year old). My dad and grandma are the hardest ones to shop for because they get themselves anything they need and the things they don't buy themselves are expensive.

The best advice I can give for fighting depression, is spend as much time as you can in the sunlight and spend as much of the dark hours as you can with people who's company you enjoy or doing things that you enjoy most.
