Well, after my elven swashbuckler has......

STR: 18
DEX: 19
CON: 17
CHR: 18

I shunt the rest into Intelligence. It's just me. I prefer to be intelligent, because it means you can use scrolls and the like. If you have a low intelligence you can't use "Protection from Magic" and stuff like that.
