I admit to be a "chronic reloader" myself. I also finally overcame the urge in Suldenesselar while fighting the black dragon. I did have to reload several times because MY character got killed. I finally came up with a "workable strategy" and it was successful...but I still lost Minsc and Jan in the effort.

When I first started BGII, I would have immediately reloaded and tried again...but since Jaheira had a Rod of Resurrection, I used that to bring them back. They were none the worse for wear, but perhaps we were all a bit wiser about rushing into battle against the Great Wyrms.
