Healy tells Poms to aim lower

Former Test wicketkeeper Ian Healy has urged England to "lower their expectations" and "forget about winning" the Ashes cricket series.

Healy said England had no chance of taking out its first Ashes series in 15 years as long as Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath were in Australia's bowling attack.

England arrived in Australia again promising to be competitive but was thumped by 384 runs in the opening Test at the Gabba.

Healy urged England to be realistic and, come the second Test in Adelaide starting on November 21, just concentrate on playing the best cricket they could.

"They have just got to lower all their expectations and start to try and play well and play to their ability level and forget about winning and losing and bouncing back, just get out there and play," he told the ABC's website

I think what my old mate "Heals" is suggesting is that England look beyond the gold - a silver works just as well and is nothing to sneeze at
