I'm afraid I haven't been to Olympia, but would love to go. Alas the statue of Zeus by Pheidias is no longer there, and none of the copies survive either, that would have been a sight and a half! Greece is great, one of my favourite places in the world. If you were going to that part of Greece you could also take in the ancient site of Mystra, the huge theatre at Epidauros, Corinth, and possibly make your way north to the Sanctuary at Delphi! Buses to Athens should be easy enough from there as well but it takes a few hours, depends how long you wanted to go for.[/QUOTE]How come the statue of Zeus isnt there anymore??
