Great post LadyZekke.

Now that I have a child and am inundated with the safety precautions of today, I am amazed at the lengths to which we (as a society) will go. Marketing departments (i.e. at bottled water companies) or public safety officials (i.e. promote a cause to promote your career) have convinced us to micromanage our lives for safety. It becomes much more apparent, I found, once you become a parent. More than likely, to my wife’s chagrin, my children will hear me say things like “you don’t need a helmet to ride your bike. Why when I was a kid………….” I’m only in my early thirties and already sound like a codger.
