I just checked something; the latest valen mod doesnt seem to allow you to install the individual components, like most other mods. Download the tactics mod and install it from that which does allow it.

Revised method:
After installing the tactics files into the baldurs gate 2 directory, start the file called Setup-Tactics.exe thats now in the bg2 directory. This dos window should appear. Press a and enter after selecting your language. Now select the desired components by pressing Y or N.
