It is a tragedy for sure
The parents may not be too bright, but I have to think that if it was intentional they would not have turned themselves in. However I don't know the full story or how they "presented" to the police. It would be a second tragedy if they were to be further punished for something they will have on their conscience for the rest of their lives. Im glad I don't have to deal with them or their just punishment.
