Hm, I think I'd tend to subscribe to the latter school of thought; the blood flow being redirected to the digestive process and the brain growing sluggish in the meanwhile.
Of course, sheer boredom (like being in a droning lecture or looking at exhilirating X-rays [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) sure doesn't help!
