Well me and you are in the same sintiuation USS. Kinda, anyway. I know exacely what you mean with No. 3, I hardly ever tell anyone about my real feelings twords things like this in RL.
As for advice, maybe you could call up your friend and tell him to keep an eye out for her? And if he sees her maybe he can hook the sintiuation together.
