I watched an interesting show about secret societies on the History channel. I love conspiracies, so much so that Belle asked me "do you really believe that stuff?" No, not really. The idea that a small group of people direct the course of history and current events is fascinating, but too far-fetched to really believe. We seek order, because order is understandable; since some things that happen do not have an orderly or easily understandable cause then we "fill in the gaps". When something happens for no apparent reason and one possible explanation is that a small group manipulated events, then some folks believe that that must be the cause. This is the other side of "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth" from Doyle.
What is really fun about conspiracies is that the lack of evidence proving that they exist is, for true believers, only more evidence that they do exist because they have been able to keep their existence secret.
I watched part of that Azred
Was kind of interesting but highly improbable in my opinion My Uncle is really into that "Trilateral Comission" and the "New WORLD Order" stuff, but I believe he is a nutcase too As they ended the show, they had some guy make the statement that most conspiracies aren't and the ones that are, you never find out about . There is so much you could argue the case with....which I guess what "THEY" want....us to be confused so that "they" may ...errr ummm well Im not exactly sure just hwat "They" are planning or why it is so horrible, but Im sure it must be bad

One of the good things about those kinds of conspiracies is that you always have a good excuse as to why you failed to become successful...you just blame it on your rugged individualism and refusal to bow to the "Trilateral Comission" and the "Old Boys" network...I mean it obviously isn't due to poor skills or lack of intellect.
