Actually, DSotSC is an unofficial mod released by TeamBG, similar to TDD for BG2.
I love BG1. I'm a roleplayer rather than a powergamer, and I find that developing your character through the beginning trials and tribulations gives you a profound sense of satisfaction, as well as making incredibly powerful characters.
