Few jobs leave nothing to complain about. Your company may be doing great, and you may deserve everything you didn't get. But, not all companies are doing fine, and your ability to replace your current job depends on how *other* places are doing, not how the one you'd be leaving is doing. Look for a new job - but be glad for what you've got in this economy if it's a decent job.
I don't know your wage or salary, your job duties, or anything at all about your job. To be sure, if your job is shitty, there are other shitty jobs out there. But, if anything about your job is not quite shitty. . . What I'm saying is that if you've been there 2 years and you really wanted the promotion, then the job must be one that's worth having. Those are tough to replace.
Look around . . . but a bird in the hand, no?
