Hey Joshua! Wow times really gone by quickly since you first said you were joining the Army lol A little advice from a former Marine about bootcamp-
Its not like your recruiter said. Your going to get yelled at lol. Half of bootcamp is mindgames, dont be sensitive and let it get to you
When someone is getting yelled at for doing something extremely stupid ( this WILL happen lol) do not laugh, giggle, snicker,or even smile. You'll get to join them in whatever punishment is handed out.
Never ever drop your rifle, prop it so it is possible for it to fall, or lay it in the dirt unless told. Not sure about the army but to be safe always call it a rifle, NOT a gun. Your guns in your pants!
In the movie Forrest Gump the Drill Sergeant asks him "GUMP! What is your purpose in life?" He replies "To do whatever you tell me to Drill Sergeant!" Go with that philosophy lol
Tell your parents NOT to forward mail from rival services trying to recruit you. I did a lot of pushups while sweating over one letter lol. Thanks dad
They will try to piss you off. Stay calm. Dont let it get to you.
Tell everyone NOT to send cookies or "care" packages during bootcapm. You may get to eat them. Only you. All at once. Saw that happen lol
Well I hope this helps, although things may be different these days and in a different service than I was in. We've talked on msn so I know your smart, and it should be pretty easy for you Good luck and let us know how your doing when you get out of bootcamp! *salute*
