Go to your game application and click on it once to highlight it, do not open it.

Then do apple key and type i, it will give you a little screen with details on.

Click on memory and up the amount, according to how much RAM you have on your machine.

If it isn't apple i, I am sure it is the get info screen in your file menu.

I am typing this on my PC at the moment and I can't be bothered to go downstairs to check this on my Mac.

This will then allocate more memory to your game.

Another way of getting round it. When you first get the error message about running low on memory. Save. Then just quit your game and reload. A lot of games usually store stuff being used in a cache and reloading usually clears the cache, thus freeing up your space.
